For more than a decade, I have had the pleasure of working in multiple school settings, as both a classroom teacher and a Math Instructional Coach. That experience has provided me with a panoramic view of the needs of students, teachers, families, and school administrators in math education.
My expertise includes:
Developing and adapting curriculum
Implementing curriculum programs across a school
Facilitating professional development for administrators and teachers
Differentiating instruction
Developing assessments and facilitating data reviews
Providing instructional coaching on research-based practices
My interest is instructional design that focuses on making mathematics personal, practical, and based on problem-solving.
My Philosophy
Math is a verb, a language, and a process that is all around us. Developing students’ conceptual understanding and skills-based knowledge of math through interactive experiential learning is key. My approach to mathematics provides differentiated experiences that allows all students access to learning — meeting their learning needs and goals.
